Property Management
SRO Housing Corporation offers clean, safe and affordable single room occupancy housing (emergency/short-term, transitional and permanent) for homeless and low-income individuals.
While some units consist of a sink, complete furnishings, linens and a refrigerator, others include a private bathroom and kitchenette. In general, anyone over the age of 18 without a permanent residence and with some form of steady income is eligible to live in an SRO Housing Corporation unit. Experienced and trained security staff monitor all sites 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. A number of sites offer accommodations for older or frail adults (aged 55 years and over), people with stabilized chronic mental illness, those recovering from substance abuse, persons living with HIV/AIDS, persons with co-occurring disorders, and veterans.
Emergency Shelter
The Russ Hotel accepts clients from other agencies such as the Los Angeles County Department of Social Services, County Department of Health Services, County Department of Mental Health, LAHSA, etc.
Russ Hotel

The Russ Hotel is a 168-unit single room occupancy emergency housing facility. The building has shared bathrooms, a community lounge area, laundry facilities, social service offices, a Resource Desk and rental offices. All units come fully furnished. The Russ Hotel is located adjacent to San Julian Park. Single Room Occupancy Housing Company completed renovations in 1989.
Transitional Housing
Available for persons in recovery from substance abuse.
Marshal House

The Marshal House is a 74-unit transitional housing facility for homeless veterans. The building has shared bathrooms, showers, community kitchen, community lounge, case management offices, and laundry facilities. All units come fully furnished. In addition to providing transitional housing, additional services include case management services, food services, support groups, 12-step meetings, money management, job education and job referrals.
Permanent Supportive Housing
Available to people 18 years of age or older who have a form of steady income (through employment, General Relief, Supplemental Security Income, etc.) and do not have a permanent residence. Please contact the Rental Office at the Russ Hotel, 517 S. San Julian St. between 8:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m. or call (213) 229-9365 to apply for housing.

The Angelus Inn is a 30-unit, single room occupancy housing facility. The building has shared bathrooms, showers, community kitchen, and community lounge. All units come fully furnished. The Angelus Inn was placed in service in 1989 and renovated in 1991. The property has been awarded Section 8 certificates. 29 units receive rental subsidies.
Brownstone

The Brownstone Apartments is a 48-unit studio apartment complex, including a property manager’s unit. All units have individual bathrooms and kitchens in every unit, a community kitchen and lounge space/computer lab, property manager/security office, case management offices and laundry facility. There is an ‘alcohol-free’ grocery market called Best Market on the first floor. All units at the Brownstone Apartments receive rental subsidies. All units come fully furnished.

Golden West

Golden West opened in 1988, and was converted from transitional housing to permanent housing in 2013.

New Terminal

The New Terminal is a 40-unit studio apartment complex. All units have individual bathrooms and kitchens in every unit, come fully furnished and receive rental subsidies. There are two street-level commercial spaces. New Terminal Apartments opened in 2005.
Renato

The Renato Apartments is a 96-unit studio apartment complex. 58 units are reserved for Chronic Homeless Persons w/ Mental Illness. All units have individual bathrooms and kitchens in every unit and come fully furnished. There are 2 levels of subterranean parking.

The Yankee Apartments is an 80-unit studio apartment complex. All units have individual bathrooms and kitchens in every unit and come fully furnished. 22 units are market-rate rent, 56 units receive rental subsidies, and two units are manager and assistant manager units. The building has an elevator, community room with community kitchen, conference / computer room, center courtyard, case management offices and a laundry facility. There’s also one level of underground parking.
